Monkshood

Fascinating, hood-shaped indigo blue flowers with tiny, shiny black centers tightly arranged on straight green stalks.

Monkshood a herbaceous perennial flower named because its flowers resemble the cowls of a monk's habit.  Other common names include Helmet Flower, Wolf's Bane, Blue Rocket, and Wolf's Bane.

AVAILABILITY: Late summer through early fall

CARE & HANDLING: Remove all foliage that will be sitting below the water line.  Cut stems and place in a clean container with room-temperature water.  Keep in cool location out of direct sunlight and drafts.  Replenish water as needed.
